Further Ruins on the west coast of the Peloponnese

I often heard about Olympia being a "magical place"which I always dismissed as a cliche
what is interesting about clichesis they are often based on the truth
the energy at Olympia is quite amazing,
makes you want to go into savasana and feel the vibrations
of the gently melting ruins
surprisingly made of seashells

Crossing a fantastic Dharma bridge, one returns to reality

and further ruins,

like this forgotten Xenia Motel just outside modern Olympia

overtaken by random greenery

you can almost recognize the Kostandinides detailing
cool color combos
all the furniture has already been ripped out
back on the coast, a windmill becomes a flowerpot

a bunker wants to have funthough it will probably just become a taverna
another semi-abandoned hotelHotel Arini,
part of the Kaifas lake complex

with a direct link to the other side of the lake
and the cave of thermal spirngs

The interrupted Village of Winds

On a tip from fellow blogger "Tourist" we visited the abandoned seaside village of Anemochori
its nice to have friends who tell you where things are
the village is all houses on the sand, unfinished, broken

never lived in by anybody because it is not legal to build on the sand
even if its so fabuloussome of the houses drowned
others got wrapped in bamboo
this one became friends with a tree
this tree became a house
on the beach all you need is a line around you
lift you up to the horizon

while the sun sets behind the ruins

Scenes from an excavation

After being happily fed at the Banana Garden,
and inspired by stories of javelin-throwing,
we made our way to the ultra fabulous site of Ancient Olympia,
where a whole new miniature life was going on.

an archaeologist was recording the days' finds

a local worker was carrying away stuff

another guy was being very picky with the dumpy level

meanwhile all this was going on

everybody seemed to be waiting for something
all the animals were alert

a two-faced messenger appeared

the siren warned

and the sexy Pan arrived

switching scales, Angelo inspected a gentle giant

Lost in Zacharo (Kaiafas)

Running through the jungle to escape from the Others
we found food in the form of a glorious taverna
hidden inside a wild banana garden.
Private dining rooms made of vines and bamboo, where you dine under Banana roofs
and it is actually a great seafood place
owned by Mr Stratos and his son Dimitris (bronze medal in javelin, useful for keeping the others away amongst other things).
Other son Sakis was away that morning

Lost in Kyllini

Wandering around the Peloponese, looking for whats next,
we happened upon the Kyllini Springs: a 1930's ruinthat used to house the thermal springsuntil the Others arrived

a crazy ugly people covered in black therapeutic mudthey took over this land we escaped to the wild impromptu jungle
vines wildly climbing up trees
everything grows fast here because of the black mud
(get your own here)
