Some paintings in Prado

Juan Antonio de Ribera "Cincinato abandons the plough to dicate laws to Rome"
or maybe we should call it "Cincinato looking very hot checks out Another Really Hot Guy,
while in the background other hot guys check out each other"
click to see El Bosco's Garden of Earthly Delights,
best pink building I seen in a long time (middle panel)

and Joachim Patinir, dramatic "Landscape with St Jerome"

and "Charon crossing the Styx"

Monster Weekend

Been writing a course on videogames, mostly as an excuse to play. And I've been looking at the super cool stills from Shadow of Colossus, where something like a building seems to wake up and become a monster, though no PSII around to try it out.
Still plenty of Ray Harryhausen clips on the yootoobes, and even on the torrenz.

Here's the cute Cyclops from Sinbad

Snake Woman Dance

and our very own Ancient Greek Robot Talos, which I had completely forgotten of but my trusted co-worker Sotiris pointed out

Teapot Town

I must have clicked something wrong,
because all of a sudden CNN Traveler popped up on my screen,
and this was on the cover
somewhere in Thailand where tea is apparently very popular
had to find out more and ended up on this persons' flickr page
as much as I hate flickr
(seriously, how many times do you have to click to see one picture?)
I was hooked on this teapot masterpiece
which on the last photos looks a bit worse for wear
(or maybe its under construction?)

Sans Soleil

Just finished watching Chris Marker's 1983 Sans Soleil
Sunless
scary but I remember watching this 20 years ago
in a film classat Sci-ARC
a sequence of sequences
perfectly narrated
scenes from a movie never made
which would have been called Sunless

next is La Jetée

Further Ruins on the west coast of the Peloponnese

I often heard about Olympia being a "magical place"which I always dismissed as a cliche
what is interesting about clichesis they are often based on the truth
the energy at Olympia is quite amazing,
makes you want to go into savasana and feel the vibrations
of the gently melting ruins
surprisingly made of seashells

Crossing a fantastic Dharma bridge, one returns to reality

and further ruins,

like this forgotten Xenia Motel just outside modern Olympia

overtaken by random greenery

you can almost recognize the Kostandinides detailing
cool color combos
all the furniture has already been ripped out
back on the coast, a windmill becomes a flowerpot

a bunker wants to have funthough it will probably just become a taverna
another semi-abandoned hotelHotel Arini,
part of the Kaifas lake complex

with a direct link to the other side of the lake
and the cave of thermal spirngs
